How it is calculated
- Japan: prices include 10% consumption tax. Visitors who buy in store with their own passport and take the watch out of Japan within 90 days get it back, about 9.1% of the price. From November 1, 2026 you pay the tax-inclusive price and are refunded after customs confirms the export at departure; refund fees are not set by law and vary by shop, so none are deducted here. - Taiwan: prices include 5% business tax. Foreign visitors can only claim it at shops with the tax refund label (registered with the Ministry of Finance); the refund agent keeps 20% of the tax, so you get about 3.8% of the price.
